CHINESE NEW YEAR ORRERY - ARTIST CREATED - OOAK

Much like the solar systems we painstakingly produce, this is a model we have created for the Chinese New year. The details are spectacular and the image, a Ching dynasty dragon rondel, when printed on canvas became almost three dimensional in appearance. The moon is represented by a carved chinese ball resembling jade (unknown if it really is jade.) A brass crane adorns the base which is supported by four brass feet.

This model is a show stopper. It is 16.5 inches across and approximately 12.5" tall which means it is a showstopper. We do not consider this a suitable for anyone under the age of 12.

These are fully functional. The sun lights up. The gears move the earth and moon around the sun. It is not electrified. These are plastic models (some metal) which have been painted to look brass and wood. (Genuine wood and metal orrerys are available online but cost upwards of $1,000.) This started out as a students model to illustrate the earths rotation around the sun and the moons rotation around the earth.

PLEASE NOTE: These are custom made - THEY REQUIRE UP TO 4 WEEKS BEFORE WE SHIP. But they are lovely and there will only be a handful of these in existence. AS ART WORK, THESE ARE NON RETURNABLE. (Need it sooner? Please inquire.)
